Intersexion explores the lives of people who identify as intersex, a poorly understood medical disorder of sexual development that affects 1 in 2000 people. The film is narrated by an intersex activist from New Zealand, Mani Bruce Mitchell, who travels to four countries to meet with other intersex people. This film is the first on intersex to roundly criticize the work of Dr. John Money, an influential sexologist from Johns Hopkins University. Through watching this film, you will learn about sexual ambiguity and the power of activism to alleviate disrespectful practices within the medical profession.
