From Outcasts to Warriors, directed by Jerrika Christianson, Austin Shimko and Dylan Vorass, illustrates the importance of queer curriculum in standard school settings. This autobiographical piece documents the identity transformation of the three filmmakers through their lives and experiences in the San Francisco immersion course. This refreshing documentary evokes a sense of urgency; all students deserve the chance to feel empowered.

Grand Marshal Not Court-Martial, directed by Elina Lane, Amber Smith and Ryan Spaight, follows the San Francisco Pride controversy, involving WikiLeaks whistleblower Chelsea Manning. The film calls into question SF Pride’s loyalty to the community, and stands in stark solidarity with Manning’s plight.

Housing First, directed by Nate Cooper, Neil Robmann and J.R. Smathers, explicates how San Francisco’s housing crisis has disproportionately affected LGBTQ people. The film challenges San Francisco’s widely renowned status as “a gay mecca”.
