Turning forty is never easy, but for Anna, who lives out of her friend’s garage and whose only job requires her to dance around as a walking, talking, five foot tall vagina, the prospects are downright terrifying. Distressed by her current state of affairs, Anna sets out to create the film and find the woman that she believes will change her life.
She hires a crew composed of friends, acquaintances and filmmaker colleagues to bring her vision to life. Emotions boil over on the set, and Anna loses her cool over a woman she believed to be her perfect match. This letdown causes Anna to become introspective as she ponders whether she will have the same laundry list of problems on her forty-first birthday.
Who’s Afraid of Vagina Wolf? is a side-splitting, autobiographical comedy, in which director Anna Margarita Albelo finds herself behind the pen, in front of the camera and sitting in the director’s chair—all in the same film. Albelo’s film will leave you craving more of her quirky humor, and thankfully, she will be in attendance at EQFF as our visiting filmmaker.
